Significant people within the art world are repaid with awards such as OBEs; this article will discuss three examples.

Britain creates a lot of music from numerous genres. The versatility of this music production is mirrored by the musicians rewarded. Much of the music made in Britain is far from traditional art, but being so well known and respected, it is awarded the same awards as some of the more high brow fields of art. Music may be the most accessible and well known art form, so it makes sense for the most authoritative and celebrated artists to be recognised; by doing so it also helps to encourage other people, especially the youth, to begin producing music themselves.

There are people who have professions that span over numerous forms of art, and obviously these multitalented people are often appreciated and rewarded with awards. Idris Elba was awarded an OBE recently for his services to film, TV and music. Whilst his work in TV and film are well known and aplauded, he has also done lots of work in music that is much less known. Some of his most famous work is both in American and British tv, in which he has mainly performed in tense crime dramas, one of which is broadly deemed one of the best TV shows ever made.

Honours are awarded to people from many different markets and walks of life; the arts are one of the typical ones in which people are recognised for their service with OBEs. Among the many types of arts, OBEs are frequently offered to artists who work toward the transformation of peoples lives. Sonia Boyce was recently granted an OBE, not only for her vast and incredible art work, but likewise for her work to enable women. She has also been acknowledged for her work in promoting and teaching younger artists in numerous methods including music. Much of her work has been included in many of the leading art galleries from across the nation and across the world.

As musical productions and plays are such a huge part of the cultural landscape of the UK, it is no wonder that thespians and producers are granted awards. Sally Greene was given an OBE for her continuous work in the entertainment and arts industries; she has formed stage companies and produced numerous award-winning performances. She has also done work with plenty of charitable groups and foundations that aim to promote several branches of art amongst young people, showcasing how they can help young individuals in many aspects. About the most famous and highly regarded fields of production is of Shakespearean plays, a lot of actors and producers in this area are given the highest awards. As London is such a considerable place for stage productions, lots of people working in the sector are presented honours.
